Where do you start to launch your branded podcast?

You've decided to create your own brand podcast , but don't know where to start? Between choosing the theme, the format and the necessary equipment, there are several steps to take before you can broadcast your corporate podcast. Calliopé, a podcast agency, takes you through the steps involved in launching your branded podcast

Creating the podcast

Before you start recording your podcast, you need to take the time to establish a podcasting strategy. The aim is to prepare a long series of episodes in advance, so that you can keep up the pace as soon as the branded podcast is launched.

The birth of the idea

You may already have the main topic of your branded podcast in mind, but do you know how to approach it? You need to have a real concept that sets you apart from your competitors in the same sector. Of course, your topic must be related to your brand, your company or your industry. If you think carefully about your main topic, you should be able to come up with lots of ideas for future episodes.

Define your objectives and target audience

Like any marketing strategy, your branded podcast must have objectives. For example, do you want to raise your profile or establish your expertise? How many listeners would you like to have each month?

In fact, take the time to get to know your core target. What are their consumption habits? When do they listen to your corporate podcast? Etc. By imagining your perfect listener, you'll know how to reach them via your communication strategy.

An adapted format

There are many different formats in the podcasting world, and you can choose from popular ones such as interviews, fiction, surveys and co-hosted podcasts. But you can also create your own format if you like! Think about the length of your podcast: short (2 to 4 minutes) or long (60 to 90 minutes)? For example, a podcast for certification bodies needs a rather long format to be able to explain the interest and work of these bodies.

A unique identity

The identity of your branded podcast plays a very important role, and is divided into three parts:

  • the visual identity will catch the eye of your listeners when they choose to listen to an episode on their favorite platform;
  • the editorial line gives you direction for your episodes (tone, podcast name, etc.);
  • the brand's sound identity creates a bond with the listener, who makes it their own (jingle, intro, outro or music used).

Take the time to prepare before recording your branded podcast episodes.

Recording and broadcasting branded podcasts

Once your podcasting strategy is ready, you can tackle the production of your branded podcast. You need to define the human and material resources you'll need to make it happen. You can call on a podcast agency like Calliopé to manage the entire production and distribution of your podcast. They can even help you from the idea stage, as they do for podcasts and large groups

To record in the best possible conditions, it's best to use a podcast recording studio that ensures good sound quality for your listeners. The next step is to edit the episodes and host them on dedicated platforms. Of course, before broadcasting your episodes, your communication strategy needs to be well honed (social networks, internal communication, newsletters, etc.) so that your branded podcast finds its listeners.
