Why podcasts have become an essential pillar of any corporate communications strategy
In a work environment already saturated with information (posters, professional messages, PDF training courses), it can be hard to keep up. A company podcast is like a breath of fresh air: it can be heard everywhere, it unites teams around the same message, builds trust and gives a clear voice to the company's culture.
An internal podcast creates this invisible thread: every employee, whether at head office, telecommuting or in the field, hears the same story at the same time. As the episodes unfold, cohesion is nurtured by shared anecdotes, recognized experts and authentic stories; the sense of belonging grows because everyone is invited to take part in the collective narrative.
Since 2019, Calliopé has already helped more than sixty companies in a wide range of sectors transform their internal messages into unifying audio experiences. To get an idea of our expertise, listen to our mini-series produced for our client Fitness Park, with whom we have produced numerous episodes available on all audio listening platforms.
The intranet, e-mail and posters at the coffee machine have never really disappeared. Yet these popular communication tools are struggling to hold the attention of teams divided between telecommuting and the field. Podcasts, on the other hand, are part of our daily connected lives: we listen to them on the way to work, at the gym or between meetings. The result: the message fits seamlessly into the routine, rather than interrupting it. The voice conveys emotion, nuances thought and weaves an invisible link between speaker and listener.
According to Médiamétrie, in 2024, 22 million French people, i.e. 44% of the population, will already be listening to a podcast every month, proving that this format has become an integral part of everyday life.
Choosing voice means delivering a message that follows your teams everywhere, integrating naturally into their routine and leaving a lasting impression long after the screen has been turned off.
Human speech reveals a sincerity that no PowerPoint can reproduce. A voice captures the hesitations, laughter and silences that stir the imagination and make strategy tangible. Freed from the screen, employees learn as they walk; a ten-minute episode slips deliberately into an already saturated schedule. When a complex concept is told like a story, it takes root and lasts, thanks to the imagination and creativity of the audience.
Each episode is used to collect listening indicators, including average duration, most-replayed passages and drop-out points. These data can be used to analyze the quality of your audio content and improve it for future episodes.
It all starts with a clear objective. To inform? Educate? Unite? This choice determines the narrative structure, episode length and frequency of publication. Then comes the casting: a credible voice immediately creates the desired proximity. Calliopé selects or trains speakers who embody the company's culture, then builds a rhythmic, captivating narrative: an introduction that gets straight to the point, lively storytelling, a conclusion that encourages action.
On the technical side, studio or remote recording ensures crystal-clear listening, even with simple headphones. Last but not least, broadcasting is done on platforms where your teams are already present: embedded player in the intranet, secure mobile app, streaming platforms, QR codes in break areas, etc.
To get the word out about your podcast, a teaser campaign comes in very handy. You can post an audio vignette on Slack on Monday mornings, "Scan and Listen" posters in the elevator, or send out bulk emails. This guarantees that your staff will discover your audio project as early as season 1.
If you'd like to draw up your own audio roadmap, book a strategy session with Calliopé's creative team. In forty-five minutes, you'll leave with a precise storyboard and a realistic production schedule.
In the midst of overhauling its global strategy, Allianz was looking for an agile way to talk, week after week, to several thousand employees.
An "Inside Strategy" podcast decodes each chapter of the five-year plan, interviewing executives and project managers. Mobile accessibility and the clarity of the exchanges raise the completion rate to 82%.
Quizzes, anecdotes from the field and micro-portraits of employees make the insurance world more human, and engagement on the internal social network rises by 28%.
The series integrates natively into the intranet via a secure player, transforming a tactical tool into an enduring medium for corporate cohesion and culture.
With over 6 years' experience and dozens of companies supported, our conviction remains unchanged: sound is a long-term investment.
